LADBS announced this week the process by which property owners could put a temporary house such as a recreation vehicle, mobile home or manufactured home on their site while they are going through the rebuild process. The three steps are:
- Prove the site is safe and cleared of all structures and debris by getting a Phase 2 clearance from the US Army Corp of Engineers.
- Obtain permits for water, waste and electrical connections from LADBS. A building permit is not required provided that all the conditions of the LADBS memo regarding demolition of structures are met.
- Set up the temporary housing and then call for inspections to confirm the water, waste and electrical connections.
